Checklists

Checklists help break down complex tasks into smaller, trackable items within a card.

How Checklists Work

A card can have multiple checklists, and each checklist can have multiple items:

Checklist Operations

You can perform these operations on checklists:

List — Get all checklists for a card

Create — Add a new checklist to a card

Rename — Change a checklist's name

Reorder — Move a checklist to a different position

Copy — Duplicate a checklist with all its items

Delete — Remove a checklist (also deletes all its items)

Checklist Item Operations

Each checklist item supports these operations:

List — Get all items in a checklist

Get — Fetch a single item's details

Create — Add a new item to a checklist

Rename — Change an item's name

Set Date — Assign a date to an item

Mark Complete — Toggle the completion status

Reorder — Move an item to a different position

Toggle Members — Assign or unassign users to an item

Copy — Duplicate an item

Delete — Remove an item

Item Attachments

Checklist items also support file attachments. You can add, remove, or rename attachments on individual items.

Progress Tracking

Each card automatically tracks checklist completion across all its checklists:

This aggregate count is useful for showing progress indicators in your integration, such as "3 of 10 tasks completed."
