Comments And Discussions

Cards support threaded conversations through comments and discussions.

How Conversations Work#

Card
  └── Comment 1
  │ ├── Discussion 1.1
  │ │ └── Discussion 1.2 (reply chain)
  │ └── Discussion 1.3
  └── Comment 2
        └── Discussion 2.1
Comments are top-level messages on a card.
Discussions are replies to comments, forming a thread.
Both support cheers (reactions).

Permission Scopes#

OperationRequired Scope
Read comments and discussionscard:comment:read
Create or update comments and discussionscard:comment:write
Delete comments and discussionscard:comment:delete

Comment Operations#

Get comments — Fetch comments for a card with cursor-based pagination
Create comment — Add a text or audio comment to a card
Update comment — Edit an existing comment
Delete comment — Remove a comment (also removes its discussions)

Discussion Operations#

Discussions are always nested under a comment:
Create discussion — Reply to a comment with text or audio
Update discussion — Edit an existing reply
Delete discussion — Remove a reply

Audio Messages#

Both comments and discussions support audio recordings. Upload an audio file using multipart/form-data to create an audio message.

Cheers (Reactions)#

Comments and discussions support "cheers" — simple reactions that users can add. Each cheer is tied to the user who created it.

Pagination#

Comments use cursor-based pagination. To get the next page, use the createdAt timestamp of the last comment from the previous response as the cursor.
