Overview

Lists#

Lists are vertical columns within a board that hold cards. They represent stages in a workflow, such as "To Do", "In Progress", or "Done".

How Lists Work#

Each board contains one or more lists. Cards move between lists as work progresses. Lists belong to a specific board, which belongs to a team and company.

Completion Status#

Lists can be marked as "complete" when all work in that list is finished. This is useful for tracking overall board progress. You can filter lists by their completion status using the filter[complete] query parameter.

Where Lists Appear#

Lists are returned in two contexts:
1.
Directly via the Lists endpoint — Returns list names and completion status. Useful for quick overviews.
2.
Within Board endpoints — Lists are returned with their cards populated. Useful for rendering a full kanban view.
